The Pilot Boat

Some days ago I purchased a publication of MRB magazine, the French review of model-making, here I found the plans to build up a pilot boat, one of those utilized to transport the port pilots to the biggest boat as passengers, freighter or tanker, and then back the pilots to the seaport. http://www.seawardboat.com/Pilot.html

The model presented in the magazine is quite simple to build, it seems, so I decided to start with the shipyard, that needs balsa and samba woods in different depth (5mm for balsa and 3mm for samba), tracing-paper to follow the lines of the original plans and to transfer them on the wood. http://www.nauticexpo.fr/cat/bateaux-de-travail-bateaux-de-service-rov/bateaux-de-service-bateaux-pilotes-PA-724.html

Other accessories, to cut, polish or colour needed, are the base that every model maker has at home. At the end of this post, I hope to make you see the work-in-progress of the pilot boat as soon as possible.
