R/c Hydroplane

Scafo in vetroresina replica di U6 Oh Boy, motore 2,5 cc della Novarossi e tanti problemi da risolvere; questo thunderboat da corsa è un usato acquistato tempo fa e lasciato "in cantina" per un pò, poi la decisione di portarlo in acqua. http://www.missmadison.com/

Per prima cosa è stata necesaria una revisione veloce del motore da parte del modellita da cui l'ho acquistato, poi è stato fondamentale acquistare una batteria d'avviamento da 5000 mA, di quelle vecchie, che ho trovato con un pò di fortuna, una nuova candela del 5 e tanta pazienza per il settaggio dei vecchi servocomandi installati, con la mia ricevente da 2,4 GHz.

In questi giorni ho terminato le modifiche e gli aggiustamenti necessari, così ora inizio le prove in acqua in un paio di anse sul fiume Serio, con acqua ferma e facile accesso.

Airboard

L'hovercraft fatto scooter, ecco cos'è l'airboard. Costituito da una pedana in vetroresina, un motore che aziona la ventola principale e la gonna in gomma.
Un nuovo mezzo di trasporto e un nuovo sport per noi italiani, l'airboard è diffuso in Canada, dove esistono spazi dedicati.

Ma come funziona questo mini-hovercraft?
Come nel fratello più grande la ventola principale, azionata da un motore a scoppio, fornisce sia la spinta per il sostentamento statico del mezzo sia la spinta necessaria al moto orizzontale. La guida avviene attraverso una barra che controlla la potenza erogata dal motore, per direzionare l'airboard si sposta il peso del corpo nella direzione voluta, un pò come si fa con surf e snowboard.

Come si vede nei video, l'airboard si può muovere su tutti i terreni, sull'acqua e sulla neve. Con un'autonomia di circa un'ora ed una portata massima di circa 120 chilogrammi, ha un prezzo pari a 14000 dollari sul nuovo. L'airboard avrà successo in Italia?

L'ultimo Space Shuttle

Ieri, dalla base americana del Kennedy Space Center, è decollato l'ultimo space shuttle, l'Atlantis che ha seguito l'ultimo lancio della navicella Endeavour, avvenuto lo scorso maggio. In elenco i vari tipi di Space shuttle utilizzati nel corso degli anni.

Robbe Airbee

L'Airbee "Ape", è un aeromodello proposto come entry-level, allora ne ho acquistato un'esemplare di serie e ho fatto qualche test di volo. http://www.modellsport-boehm.at/item/0/0/0/1305/robbe_modell_airbee.html

La costruzione è abbastanza semplice, i materiali sono ottimi; il problema principale riguarda l'installazione dell'apparato elettrico a partire dai micro servocomandi passando per l'installazione dei cavi nelle guide, per finire con l'inserimento della ricevente e delle sue batterie; lo spazio a disposizione nella fusoliera è veramente scarso quindi, bisogna cercare di "incastrare" e fissare i vari elementi facendo attenzione che i semigusci della fusoliera si chiudano senza problemi.

Avendo già diversi modelli, ho utilizzato dei servocomandi che avevo in casa, quindi relativamente diversi da quelli proposti dalla Robbe. Comunque, una volta costruito l'aeromodello, ho notato il peso notevole del motore elettrico e la presenza di un'elica spingente poco...spingente!

I voli, condotti con vento poco o nullo, si sono rivelati un pò difficoltosi dato lo scarso brio del motore e la poca manovrabilità del velivolo. A mio parere, sono necessari dei servocomandi non micro, quelli utilizzati correntemente sui modelli di taglia media ed inserirli scavando un pò col tagliabalsa l'interno della fusoliera, in questo modo si aumenta l'escursione delle superfici mobili. Infine, propongo il cambio dell'elica con un modello più performante, altrimenti l'aereo risulta pesante.

Da ultimo, ho tentato il decollo dal campo in erba, il risultato è che l'Airbee è rimasto a terra.

R/C "Spray" Boats

The Davy Jones spray boats are small and simple-built radio controlled models, that gives satisfaction as entry-level r/c boat-models. The battery included is a 7.2 V with 700 mA, as printed on the battery pack, but I found in the Net 1700 mA... However, the box includes one radio control with l/r Steering and Forward, while there is no reverse, that I think is quite strange for electric motors. I made many tests on a calm place in the Serio river, with no water flow, the behavior is quite good for this low-price entry-level cat, but my own boat is still turning on the left when full forward and neutral steer. I re-filed the props edges with no results, I saw there is a short play of the spin on the left engine rod, while the right spin is well fixed. Let's cooking Easy

Well, as first I want to suggest an easy Tomato Sauce to add to your pasta course. This should be the right salsa both in summer and in winter.

We need a pan for first, onion, basil leaves, olive oil, tomato sauce, salt or stock-cube. Let's put olive oil into the pan and leave it warm, then we have to join onion ring-cutted into the pan and blend it many times to avoid onion to burn and become too dark.

It's important to use mid-power gas or electric burner, onion must gently boil in the oil. When onion is golden-brown it's time to add tomato sauce in the pan, a bit of sugar to remove the natural sharpness of tomatoes, the add salt or stock-cube, I utilize this because gives more flavour to salsa, finally add well-cleaned basil leaves and let's cook sauce for 10-15 minutes, depending on the taste we want.

I didn't place amounts about ingredients, however I use 1 tin of tomato, 1 white or golden onion, 1 stock-cube for 2-3 peoples.

Surf in Italy

For the ordinary-european men, surf is played only in the so-far-countries in the world, as New Zealand, coastal States of USA, Australia. Well, this isn't true! Italian surfers community is quite wide, because also in Italy there are many surf spot to visit and to play.

The main places where play this sport are in Sardinia, Liguria (north-west), Sicily, Emilia Romagna (east coast). Our waves can't challenge those eight or ten meters high, we find them only on the Countries that look straight on Oceans.

As I know, we join the two or three meters when wind is good, usually in the autumn months of the year, as sept, oct, nov. However, also here is possible to ride the sea-waves!
